New POP UP ART SCHOOL

Following on from the success of the 'Pop-Up Art School' last April, the Pre-Service PGCE /CE Art & Design group are facilitating another exciting event!

An Autumn 'Pop-Up Art School' is to be held in conjunction with the Huddersfield Comtemporary Music Festival and Huddersfield Art Gallery.

Wednesday 24th November 2010, Huddersfield Art Gallery, 2.15 - 4.30pm

The theme and focus will be on the work of John Cage, and the PGCE/CE trainees will facilitate art activities inspired by Cage's art work and music. The gallery is hosting a prestigious travelling exhibition of Cage's art work entitled Every Day is a Good Day providing a great setting for the 'Pop Up Art School'. The Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival is featuring several of Cage's musical compositions this year, and 2 pieces will be perfomed by musicians in the art gallery itself during the event. It promises to be a fascinating and multi-sensory experience.
